Meet Connie Lawley, creator of indie brand Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer!
Us: What’s your “day job”?
Connie: I don’t work outside the home. I am a wife, mother, doctor, healer, referee, cook, entertainment coordinator, therapist, etc. An all-around Wonder Woman! Don’t take me too literally, but moms just do everything! During the school year, I homeschool our two boys. Other than that, I make magical nail polishes!
How did you begin creating your own polishes?
I’ve always been a bit of a nail polish fanatic. One day I happened to stumble upon the indie nail polish world. I was amazed at all that was out there. After much research and experimenting, I started making my own creations. And to make a long story short, we opened our shop in February 2014.
Is there a story behind your brand’s name?
Don’t tell anyone but, I was born in 1977. I took the seventy-seven and named us Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer. I liked the way Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer sounded. We took it and ran with it!
What’s the inspiration behind your lacquer colors?
I find inspiration in many places! It could be from a flower, music, how I’m feeling that day or something totally random.
What is your best seller right now?
My best seller right now is Beach Ball Bimbo. (Don’t mind the name, it was a dare! Thanks, Chrissy!) My best seller of all time is Rebel. Oh, and Rebel is currently being reformulated to be even more awesome!
What is your favorite polish you’ve ever created?
I love all my polishes! My current favorites are: Beach Ball Bimbo, Monsters In My Closet, Vixen and Innocent.
Other than your own, what’s your favorite brand of polish to use?
I use indie brands 99% of the time. There are just so many amazing brands out there. It is impossible to pick just one! I most recently purchased from Octopus Party Nail Lacquer, Turtle Tootsie Polishes, and Dollish Polish. I love all the indies!
Any spoilers you’d like to share about your future collections?
We have many things coming out soon! Keep an eye out for future releases. We will be adding more colors to our “Inner Circle,” which is our core line. There are also collections set to release in the near future!
