12.09.13

By James

Get your holiday nails on! Blogger Paulina of Paulina’s Passions put together a tutorial for these sparkling snowflakes, a simple design you can try with just a few lines, but with stunning results.

  • Supplies needed:

    • Born Pretty Store Hexagonal White (Shiny) Glitter
    • Rimmel 60 Seconds 842 Too Cool To Tango
    • NYX Alps Bunny (glitter top coat)
    • Seche Vite top coat
    • White acrylic paint
    • Thin nail art brush
    • Dotting tool (to pick up the glitter pieces)
    SLIDE 1 OF 7
  • Step 1:

Paint your nails with a light blue color. Paulina put two coats for a good opacity.

    SLIDE 2 OF 7
  • Step 2:

Add a glitter top coat. This will look like a shimmering snow.

    SLIDE 3 OF 7
  • Step 3:

With a thin nail art bush and white acrylic paint, start making your snowflakes. Make a line along your nail and two lines across to make an "X". Make sure the lines are the same length.

    SLIDE 4 OF 7
  • Step 4:

Make a little star in the middle on the snowflake. Simply paint tiny lines going towards the center of the snowflake.

    SLIDE 5 OF 7
  • Step 5:

Add the snowflake branches. Don't worry about any imperfections. They will disappear once you add a top coat.

    SLIDE 6 OF 7
  • Step 6:

Put a good layer of top coat and add big pieces of glitter. Put one in the center of the snowflake and a few around it, to make it look like a falling snow. Use your dotting tool, dipped in the top coat, to pick up the glitters. Done!
