Nail Art How To: Holiday Reverse French

Nail Art How To: Holiday Reverse French

11.07.13

By James

Popularized on the catwalk by Ruffian, the reverse French is a sophisticated nail art staple. It’s more unique than your average French tip, looks younger, and your accent color won’t chip when you do dishes because it’s way back at the cuticle! Sonia of Instagram’s @badgirlnails shows how it’s done.

  • Supplies needed:

    SLIDE 1 OF 4
  • Step 1:

Prep your nails with base coat and apply one coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme.

    SLIDE 2 OF 4
  • Step 2 - 3

Step 2: Once your base has dried, carefully apply two neat coats of Essie A-List further down the nail bed. Try to keep the edge as rounded as you can.
Step 3: Apply your first glitter in the center of the black edge of your nail. Continue to place glitter evenly spaced on either side to fill the black area. If the edge of the red is not as neat as you would like, you can easily place the glitter along the edge rather than in the center of the black to disguise any imperfections.

  • Step 4:

Finish with Seche Vite for a beautiful shine. Done!
