Megan Denman, the nail artist behind Instagram’s @snowglobenails, shares her tips for this Fun French floral mani featured on page 74 of Nail It!‘s September/October 2013 issue. These colorful daisy nails can be worn matte or shiny to bring an unusual and colorful twist to traditional French tips.

  • STEP 1

Choose desired polish colors for flowers.

    SLIDE 1 OF 7
  • STEP 2

    Choose:

    Black polish for the base
    White polish for the petals
    Dotting Tools

Tip: For a glossy finish use Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

    SLIDE 2 OF 7
  • STEP 3

Paint thin even layers of black to get full coverage of the nail.

    SLIDE 3 OF 7
  • STEP 4

When base coat is dry, using the dotting tool size of your choice, do small rings of five dots along the edge of your nail. This will make the petals of the daisies.

    SLIDE 4 OF 7
  • STEP 5

Using your colors, place a single dot in the middle of each ring of petals, to create the stigma (centre of the daisy).

    SLIDE 5 OF 7
  • STEP 6

When the daisies are dry, use a top coat like Seche Vite to seal the design and make the colors pop!

    SLIDE 6 OF 7
  • STEP 7

You can also use a matte finish (Personally, I do prefer a matte finish with this design.) Ta-dahh you're done!
