    • 1 blue crème polish: Zoya Wednesday
    • 1 gold polish: Maybelline Bold Gold

    • Sponge
    • Acetone for clean up

  • STEP 1

Start off with your favorite base coat, and two coats of Julie G Mermaid's Tale.

    SLIDE 2 OF 9
  • STEP 2

With a makeup sponge, dab Nabi Ocean Blue onto the nail from two thirds of the way up the nail to the tip. Note: a regular kitchen sponge will also work.

    SLIDE 3 OF 9
  • STEP 3

With a makeup sponge, dab Nabi Petite Teal on the very tip of each nail.

    SLIDE 4 OF 9
  • STEP 4

Using a nail art brush, add small U-shaped curves starting from the base of each nail withMaybelline Bold Gold for scales of the mermaid's tail. Depending on the width of your nail, you should be able to fit three or four scales along the bottom of the nail.

  • STEP 5

Continue adding U-shaped scales until you are pleased with each nail.

    SLIDE 6 OF 9
  • STEP 6

Keep in mind that the nails do not all need to look the same! Try varying where the scales end to create a nail design that appears more complicated!

    SLIDE 7 OF 9
  • STEP 7

With a nail art brush, add in teal highlights using Zoya Wednesday to alternating scales. Place the teal U-shaped curves inside of the gold curves. Add as many or as few as you like! Eva adds teal to a little over one third of the scales.

  • STEP 8

: Clean with acetone to remove any polish on your finger and cuticle bed. Add top coat, and you're done!
