Nail Art How To: Dried Flower Nails

For this tutorial, Ameerah, the blogger behind Valiantly Varnished showed us the step-by-step for this lovely dried flower manicure she revealed in her blog post. It’s both feminine and literary, and reminds us of Jane Austen meets the glories of Etsy. She used a nail stamping set, but if you’re short of supplies, it couldn’t hurt to try some newspaper nail art magic. Here’s how she did it.

  • PRODUCTS USED

    Butter London Cuppa
    Revlon Hot For Chocolate
    Bundle Monster Stamping Plate 311
Dried Nail Art Flowers from Born Pretty.
    Tweezers
    Seche Vite Top Coat

    SLIDE 1 OF 6
  • STEP 1

Apply two coats of Cuppa. Apply one coat of Seche Vite and let dry completely.

    SLIDE 2 OF 6
  • STEP 2

Using Bundle Monster plate 311 and Hot For Chocolate, stamp the "love letter" image onto each nail. Image should not be crisp. It should be slightly faded to give an "aged" look to the nails. Once all nails have been stamped apply another coat of Seche Vite.

    SLIDE 3 OF 6
  • STEP 3

Add a small dollop of Seche Vite to the tip of the nail or the base (wherever you will be placing your flowers).

    SLIDE 4 OF 6
  • STEP 4

Using your tweezers apply the flower on top of the still wet dollop and gently tap into place with your finger.

    SLIDE 5 OF 6
  • STEP 5

Use your tweezers to remove any pieces of flower that are hanging over the nail or sticking out. You're finished!
