Indie Polish Spotlight: Polish By Jessica Jean

By semick

Meet Jessica of indie brand Polish By Jessica Jean and find out how she turned her lacquer line into her day job!

Us: How long have you been making your own polish?
Jessica: I started researching my own polish line in November of 2013, I officially opened in January of this year.

What’s your “day job”?
Luckily I can say that Polish By Jessica Jean is my day job! I absolutely love it, and am so happy to be doing it.

How did you begin creating your own polishes?
When I would go shopping for nail polish, I always felt like every brand had the same colors and glitter combinations. I was always looking for bright and unique glitter polish. I could never find exactly what I had in mind, so I made my own.

Do any of your polishes have a totally different look layered over a colored base?
Yes! My holographic top coat turns any polish into a rainbow.

Is there a story behind your brand’s name?
It’s my first and middle name. My great grandmother always called me by my first and middle name.

What is your best seller right now?
My best selling polish is probably Mint Frosting. I love all of my Frosting line, they are so fun! These polishes have a white crelly base and different glitter combinations.

What is your favorite polish you’ve ever created?
Razzleberry Frosting is my favorite. It has all my favorite colors in it! Pink, purple and teal!

Other than your own, what’s your favorite brand of polish to use?
My favorite store brands would be China Glaze and Zoya. My favorite indies are Drip Drop Nail Paint and Candied Apple Polish.

Any spoilers you’d like to share about your future collections?
You can never have enough frosting!
