Meet Angela Clark, the entrepreneur behind the indie Gloss ‘n Sparkle.
How long have you been making your own polish?
My store has been open for over two years but I have been mixing polishes and ‘frankening’ for a while, I remember trying to make the perfect vampy purple/red for myself back in the 90’s as a teenager!
What’s your “day job”?
I work in retail/fashion as well as being a single mother to a beautiful nearly 7 year old boy.
Do any of your polishes have a totally different look layered over a colored base?
My holographic top coat is probably the most used polish in my collection, and a popular item in my store. Layered over plain cream polishes it can transform them with stunning linear holographic rainbows.
What’s the inspiration behind your lacquer colors?
I tend to be inspired by things I love. Previous collections have been inspired by music, books, art and color theory.
What is your best seller right now?
The Huntress, and also a personal favorite!
One Step Beyond
What is your favorite polish you’ve ever created?
I love wearing The Huntress and One Step Beyond and always get lots of compliments when I do!
Other than your own, what’s your favorite brand of polish to use?
I am a big fan of another Australian indie brand, Emily de Molly, not just because the owner Hayley makes amazing polishes, but also because she has been my best friend for over 20 years!
Any spoilers you’d like to share about your future collections?
After just releasing the Hail to the King collection inspired by the writings of Stephen King, I will soon be releasing part two of the collection!
