Starting Fashion Month off a little early, Rebecca Minkoff decided to show her Spring 2017 collection on the paths of The Grove shopping mall in Los Angeles on Saturday, Feb. 4, where influencers and fashionistas alike had the option to partake in the “See Now, Buy Now” concept by shopping at the pop-up store on location. Partnering with Essie for the official nail look, Minkoff’s collection teemed with the surfer vibe of 1970s California.
Among the models walking the show were major fashion influencers, including fashion blogger Aimee Song, actress Victoria Justice and actress Jamie Chung, who had the chance to stop by the Essie event just outside the runway for a quick manicure.
The berry tones and pinks create the perfect gradient for the ultimate ‘70s California cool.
Working with celebrity manicurist Michelle Saunders, the fashion designer and global color designer for Essie called to her Southern California roots when finding inspiration for the nail art. Saunders ultimately decided to create a California rainbow, using the tones of a sunset and retro vibes of the ‘70s on the models’ nails.
