How to Create 4 Different Blue Nail Designs from NYFW

By niwp_admin

The runways at New York Fashion Week are routinely characterized by nude polished nails, but we spotted a few digits in the last few days that are surprisingly dark and artful. In fact, many of them even incorporated playful nail art, including some moons, wavy nail art, and even halo designs. See which polishes each of these four professional nail artist used to paint these fun, fashion-conscious tips.

Zoya Peter Som

These two-toned navy and teal nails were a huge success at Peter Som. The half moons were done using Zoya Edie and Alexa. Our favorite detail was that the colors flip-flopped from girl to girl. [Image: Karie Frost]

essieblue_0   Matte nails have been all over the runways! Paired with vibrant neon makeup, these Essie tips at Costello Tagliapietra were created using a base layer of Midnight Cami, topped with Mademoiselle, and then Matte About You. The nails were worn with wardrobes inspired by the tropics, so they worked as a wave of cool ocean water.

Estee Lauder Blue Blood NYFW

Nail artist Naomi Yasuda “Naomi Nails” topped Esteé Lauder Blue Blood with dexterously applied blue and white acrylic paint to achieve a wavy design that accented the summery oranges in this model’s wardrobe for NYFW’s Opening Ceremony.

These tips appeared to be sapphires set in a gorgeous silver necklace. Each nail is painted with a coat of Morgan Taylor Rhythm and Blues and is edged with a halo of platinum Morgan Taylor Chain Reaction.
