Meet Victoria Vertel, the blogger behind Manicurator!
How did you get into nails?
I’ve always been a girly girl and loved nail polish and makeup since as early as I can remember. I found nail blogs when online shopping for nail polish after my twins were born, and fell in love. Once I tried, and realized I wasn’t half bad at nail art I knew I wanted to start my own blog.
What is your favorite color of polish?
Tough one, I’m addicted to color..but I have to say it’s aqua blue.
Which celebrity’s nails would you jump at the chance to design?
Emmy Rossum for sure. She’s an amazing beauty and even more amazing talent. She can rock the classiest to the most out there fun look without problem.
What’s your favorite nail trend?
I’m really loving the sparkling matte textures that are out now.
What is your favorite current beauty trend?
Loving the blasts of summer rich colors, bold eyes and of course nail art. But I don’t see the latter as a “trend” I think nail art is here to stay.
Favorite beauty product?
Eyeliner, I feel like it wakes my tired eyes right up. Since I am partial to nails, I will also add that I think treatment oils for the nail are essential.
What is the biggest beauty or nail mistake that you are seeing right now?
Beauty in general? Still thinking you need a tan to look good. Nails? Ragged cuticles. Pick up a cuticle moisturizer and use it.
Do you have any other hobbies?
I love to cross stitch, though I haven’t picked it up since my blog started!
What is your most outrageous or favorite nail design that you created?
I made my Sugar Spun Rainbow nails when I was a brand new blogger and it’s still one of my favorite designs.
A recent favorite/slightly outrageous design was inspired by my favorite amphibian, the poisonous frog!
Do you have a favorite musician or band?
Always loved Duran Duran! And love that they are still making music decades later.
What design would you like to put on their nails?
I love all of the guys, but for nails? I’d give Nick Rhodes graphic pink and black thick stripes.
What are your trend predictions for the next 6 months?
I think we will continue to see more textures and different ways to add dimension to the nail.
