8 Ways To Use Q-Tips For Your Nails

By James

Even if you’re doing your nails at home – sometimes you have all the tools you need right there in front of you!  Here are 8 ways you can use Q-tips (either regular Q-tip cotton swabs or the pointed Precision Tips) to get the perfect manicure!
Nail Maintenance:
Perfect Clean Up: Give yourself an at-home manicure and pedicure with Q-tips cotton swabs or Q-tips Precision Tips by lightly moistening the end with nail polish remover to instantly erase excess nail polish from your cuticles.

Prevent Cuticle Cracks: Use Q-tips cotton swabs or Q-tips Precision Tips cotton swabs to apply Shea butter on nail cuticles to prevent cracks.

Whiten Stained Nails: Nail polish addicts know that polish can stain nails – dip a Q-tips cotton swab in a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide swabbing over fingernails. Rinse after 3 minutes.

Keep Nail Polish Bottles Clean: Apply a coat of vegetable oil around the rim of your nail polish bottles with a Q-tips® Precision Tips to keep the polish from getting the tops stuck.

DIY Nail Art:
Creative Nail Art Design: Use Q-tips cotton swabs or Q-tips Precision Tips cotton swabs to make colorful dots on home manicures or even get the leopard print look!

Get the Ombre Nail Look: Apply a thick coat of a light color and let sit for a minute. Paint a darker hue over the lighter color. After the darker polish is fully dry, use a Q-tips cotton swab and gently rub acetone onto your nails until you start to see the first color through a fading technique.

Dazzling Nails: Enhance your nails with a glitter or bead accent! Apply with adhesive using Q-tips Precision Tips.

Create Nail Color with Eye Shadow: Crumple shades of shadow into a nail polish color. Mix with a Q-tip cotton swab and apply your new DIY color!
