Nail Art Tutorial: Stamping With Jelly Polish

Nail Art Tutorial: Stamping With Jelly Polish

03.10.14

By James

Until now, it’s been impossible to stamp a colorful jelly over black! Fortunately, Suzann of Amateur Manicure shared this ingenious way to do it by first stamping with white. Find out how to do this red rose manicure by clicking through.

  • For this manicure, you will need:

    SLIDE 1 OF 7
  • Step 1:

Apply your black base color and let it dry. I also applied one coat of top coat to speed up the drying process, but this is optional.

  • Step 2:

Once your base is dry, start stamping on the roses using your white polish. I think these look best when most of the roses are going off of the edges of the nails.

  • Step 3:

Stamp roses onto all your nails, making sure to vary the size and placement of the roses from nail to nail. You can also clean off any excess white polish from your fingers at this point, using your preferred clean up method. I used a small nail art brush dipped in acetone.

  • Step 4:

After letting your stamps dry for a few minutes, apply one thin coat of your red polish over your whole nail, covering both the stamps and base color. Be sure to make the coat as even as possible; uneven coverage will make some areas of your roses look too dark or too light.

  • Step 5:

Apply the red to all your nails and let it dry. Seal everything with top coat for maximum shine. That’s it! Enjoy your work!
