  • Products

-Duri Rejuvacote (Nail Growth and Strengthener)

    -Formula X Basecoat

-3  nail polish colors (The closer they are in color category, the better.) The olishes I used are Sonia Kashuk No 8, 9, 10

-Fine holographic glitter. Polishes I used are Sonia Kashuk No 8, 9, 10 and China Glaze fairy dust.

    -Nail vinyls

    -Tweezers

    -Makeup sponge

    -Napkin

    -Tape

    Q-tips (precision tips),

    -Cutex nail polish remover

    -Dappen Dish

    -Cleanup brush (elf concealer brush)

    -HK Girl topcoat

    Bliss Kiss Cuticle Oil

  • STEP 1

Prepare your nails and apply one coat of Duri Rejuvacote. Apply one coat of the Formula X base coat. Apply one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust. Lastly apply HK Girl, a fast drying top coat.

Tip: Always let each coat dry before applying the next one.

  • STEP 2

Apply tape under your cuticle area, around the side and top of your nails. This will make the clean up process easier.

  • STEP 3

Using the tweezers remove the nail vinyls one by one and apply them horizontally on the nail leaving a gap in between each strip.

Tip: Using the tweezers and your finger secure the nail vinyl close to the sides of the nail wall. This will help avoid any open areas where nail polish may seep through and onto the negative space areas.

  • STEP 4

Take the polishes and apply them one by one horizontally on the makeup sponge. Once all 3 colors are on the sponge, dab the sponge once onto a piece of napkin to remove any excess. Then dab the makeup sponge onto the nail. Repeat until you have reached your desired opacity. I used 2 coats to achieve this look.

Tip: Open all of the nail polishes as this will make it faster for you to apply each color on the sponge while the polish is still wet. Also, make sure to overlap each color on the makeup sponge. This will make the colors blend better on the nail.

  • STEP 5

While the nail polish is still wet remove the nail vinyls and tape using the tweezers. Pour some nail polish remover inside the dappen dish. Clean up the nail polish that's on the skin using a q-tip and clean up brush.

Tip: Dab the clean up brush that has been dipped in nail polish remover on a napkin. This will remove any extra nail polish remover from the brush that may ruin your nail design. Also, it’s better to do one nail at a time as this allows you to clean up while the nail polish is still wet rather than dry which may stain the finger and become harder to get off.

  • STEP 6

Once the gradient is completely dry, apply one coat of HK Girl, a fast drying top coat. Finish off the look by massaging some Bliss Kiss cuticle oil around each nail.

Tip: Wait for the top coat to fully dry before applying the cuticle oil.
