Nail Art Tutorial: Fish Fingertips

Something’s a little fishy! Londoners Jo and Emma of Dahlia Nails showcase fun prints on short nails – and today they show us how to do this summery design. Prep your fingers or your toes and click through to see how it’s done. Here’s what you’ll need to get started.

  • To create this design we used:

    1. Essie - Grow Stronger Base Coat

    2. Models Own - True Blue

    3. White Nail Art Pen

    4. Glisten & Glow - HK Girl Top Coat and;

    5. A Small Dotting Tool

  • Step 1:

    After base coat, apply two coat of your favourite blue polish

  • Step 2:

    Using a nail art pen, draw an uncompleting e figure of eight, starting at the tail, and then fill in the body. Repeat this across the base of each nail.

  • Step 3:

    Below the first line, add another row of fish shapes, facing the opposite direction.

  • Step 4:

    Fill each nail with fish, alternating the direction on each row.

  • Step 5:

    Using a small dotting tool, add eyes to the fish with your blue polish.

  • Step 6:

    Finish with a coat of your preferred top coat and viola!
