12.09.14

By semick

Cyan of Blue Tape and Nail Tips assures this is “the easiest Christmas tree nail art you will ever do!” We’ll have to agree – with two pieces of tape and some textured nail polish, this design is foolproof, but with stunning results.

  • Supplies needed:

    + OPI Skull & Glossbones
+ OPI Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow Suede
+OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air
+ Striping tape or painter’s tape
+ Gold star glitter, sequins, or stickers

    SLIDE 1 OF 6
  • Step 1:

Start off with a neutral base color, like OPI Skull & Glossbones. Add top coat and let dry.

    SLIDE 2 OF 6
  • Step 2:

Cut several long, thin strips of painter’s tape or get out your striping tape. Apply two to each nail forming a triangle. Leave room at the top of the nail for the star. Paint your opaque green (OPI Here Today...Aragon Tomorrow Suede) between the tape.

    SLIDE 3 OF 6
  • Step 3:

Quick! Add your green glitter overtop. OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air is perfect because it also has Christmas-like silver sequins in it.

    SLIDE 4 OF 6
  • Step 4:

For the stars, you can use a glitter polish that has star pieces, you can snag some star glitter from your local craft store, or you can seek out some star stickers or decals. Cyan got hers from a Kiss Nails Halloween kit. Place a dot of top coat and then lay down your star.

    SLIDE 5 OF 6
  • Step 5:

Add a layer of top coat once you’re all done and there you go!
