Spring is here and the great outdoors are calling. If you’re a fan of  the sky, the sea, and everything in between, you may want to try this fun and outdoorsy manicure by Alpana of Alps Nail Art.

What You’ll Need:

Step 1. Apply the white base coat.

Sky:

Step 2. Apply thin lines of dark blue, light blue and white to your makeup sponge. Sponge over one-third of the nails (On the cuticle side), creating a gradient. Repeat this 2-3 times, until you are satisfied with how it looks. Apply the quick dry top coat.

Step 3. Once the first layer is completely dry, stick the chevron and wave vinyls onto your nails. Place some of the scotch tape above chevron and wave vinyls to cover up the first layer of base.

Pro Tip: Since Alpana used blue jelly polishes for the water, she stuck the wave vinyls in the 3rd step. If you are using an opaque blue color, you may wish to add wave vinyl after completing steps 3 and 4.

Mountains and Grass:

Step 4. Apply thin lines of dark brown, light brown and green to your make up sponge. Sponge them in the middle third of the nail to create a gradient. Repeat coats till you achieve the desired opacity.

Step 5. Remove the nail vinyls immediately. Apply your quick dry top coat to even out gradient.

Water:

Step 6. Apply light blue/blue jelly polish on the remaining third of the nail. With the help of a dotting tool, add a yellow dot in between mountains to draw the sun. Seal the design with a quick dry top coat.

Once the landscape base is ready you may add elements of your choice. Alpana added a dolphin sticker and some dry flowers to give it touch of spring. Remember to seal anything you add with the quick drying top coat.
