Nail Art How To: Green Striped Fall Nails

Nail Art How To: Green Striped Fall Nails

Sitting outside at a wood table with the autumn breeze softly blowing through her hair (or at least that’s how we picture it), Christine (IG@xtinemayyy) painted these leaf-like tips. Her inspiration was a set of striped nails in a different fall color scheme painted by Candice of Mrcandiipants. Want to see how these two nail artists did it? Click through for a few tips on the mani and a full list of the polishes Christine used.

Supplies Needed:

  • 5 polishes from the same color scheme/family
  • 1 contrasting color polish

For this manicure, Christine used (from left to right): Chi Chi Plastic FantasticUlta3 Frog Prince andCorsican RoseEssence BBC Splash RefreshSinful Colors PistacheChina Glaze Pool Party.

  • Favorite base coat (optional) and top coat
  • 1 large sized stud
  • 1 smaller sized stud
  • Brushes
  • Acetone for clean up
  • STEP 1

Start off with your favorite base coat (optional) and 2 coats of Sinful Colors Pistache.

  • STEP 2

With a small brush, paint angled strokes of Ulta3 Corsican Rose onto each nail. Note: you can use the brush straight from the polish bottle, the lines will just be thicker.

  • STEP 3

Again with the small brush, paint angled strokes of Chi Chi Plastic Fantastic onto each nail.

    SLIDE 3 OF 7
  • STEP 4

Repeat steps two and three with each of the remaining colours (Ulta 3 Frog PrinceChina Glaze Pool PartyEssence BBC Splash Refresh) until each nail is complete. You don't have to follow the same pattern on each nail, just keep in mind to space the colors out.

    SLIDE 4 OF 7
  • STEP 5

With a striper brush, or a small nail art brush, paint a line of black down the center of each nail.

    SLIDE 5 OF 7
  • STEP 6

Continue to outline and frame each nail with the black polish. To attach the two studs, just dab on a small amount of top coat where you want to place them and gently push the studs in the polish.

  • STEP 7

Paint a coat of top coat over the whole design to seal it in, et voilà! Of course you don't have to stick to the same colors she chose. If you're a purple person, or a blue kind of gal, then by all means try a different color scheme!
