October requires some proper Halloween nail art! Nail It! Editor-in-Chief Stephanie Lavery has partnered up with Beauty Collection to bring you a few spooky (but frighteningly easy!) nail art tutorials

blood

Bloody Nails

Step 1: Apply base coat (we love Butter London’s Flawless Base Coat) and two coats of light pink polish such as Essie’s Angel Food.

Step 2: Using a dotting tool, make four dots on the nail with blood-red polish.

Step 3: Use the tip of the nail polish brush to connect the dots to the edge of the nail. Finish with top coat.

eye

Evil Eye

Step 1: Apply base coat. With white polish, paint an oblong shape in the middle of the nail. (Use two coats if necessary.)

Step 2: With the large side of a dotting tool, paint a light blue dot in the center of the white shape.

Step 3: With the small side of a dotting tool, add a dot in the center of the light blue circle with black polish.

Step 4: Using a striping brush (an ultra-thin nail brush), outline the white “eye” with black polish.

Step 5: Use the striping brush and black polish to paint lines up the nail. Finish with a strong top coat such as the Essie Super Duper Top Coat.

Step 4: Use a striping brush (an ultra-thin nail brush) and black polish to paint jagged lines at the tip of the nail. Finish with top coat.

spiderweb

Spider Web

Step 1: Apply base coat and two coats of black polish.

Step 2 Using a striping brush (an ultra-thin nail brush), paint intersecting lines across the nail with silver polish.

Step 3 Continue with the striping brush and add shorter, curved lines between each of the straight ones to make a web. Finish with top coat.
